The Gem Zavanna Residency is a structured creative development program for emerging artists and practitioners in East Africa. Over four weeks, residents receive dedicated mentorship, access to production resources, and the space to develop a cohesive body of work.
Program structure
Week 1 focuses on orientation, peer connection, and creative mapping. Weeks 2 and 3 are deep production — residents are in studio, working, experimenting, and iterating. Week 4 culminates in a public showcase and documentation session.
Past residents have gone on to exhibit internationally, secure recording contracts, and launch successful independent ventures.
